These days a number of people have moved from primarily using their computer to perform certain tasks while in the home to using devices like the iPhone or iPad. These include tasks like working with photographs or text documents. So what happens when you want to print these things without using wired connections? Well Apple has a service called AirPrint and it is built right into the iOS software.
The downside to this method is that your wireless printer must be compatible with AirPrint. You can find a list of AirPrint compatible printers here. Now the HP Envy D410a is compatible so we're going to be using it in our example.
Once your printer is on the network all you'll have to do is go into a program that you want to print from on your iPhone or iPad. For example, in Pages on the iPad, tap the settings button and go to Share and Print. From there, tap on the Print option and select one of your AirPrint-ready printers. You can also choose which pages and how many to print or turn double-sided printing on or off.
The same general process works from the iPhone. While viewing a photo, tap the share button then tap Print. Select the number of copies and the printer. Remember to load photo paper into your printer beforehand if you want your printer to print half-decent pictures.
