- Hit the Menu softkey and select Privacy to turn location-based settings on or off.

- Select Location and Security to set a variety of options.

- Set an unlock pattern: This is a pattern of connecting dots you'll have to input before you (or anyone else) can use your phone.

- SIM card lock: Allows you to apply a lock code to your SIM card so it can't be used in a new phone.

- Visible passwords: When turned off, passwords will display as dots instead of as characters.

To recover a lost Android phone:

- Try AntiDroidTheft: Allows you to track a lost phone via web browser.

- Wheres My Droid: Lets you turn off Silent mode to find your lost phone.

- Phone Finder: lets you track your lost phone using another Android handset.
