Just in case you don't want to get bombarded with calls or messages, Skype gives you the option to

change your privacy settings

. These allow you to toggle whether people need to be contacts in order to call you or to send messages or video. We'll show you how to do all that and more in this tutorial!

- Click on Skype and then Privacy. Here you can

choose to allow calls

from anyone or just people in your contacts list.

- You can choose to automatically receive video and screen sharing from anyone, just people in your contacts, or from no one at all. This is kind of important as you may not want just anyone to be able to send you video through Skype.

- Here, you can also change your

privacy settings for Instant messaging

. You can toggle whether you want to receive messages from anyone or just from your Skype contacts.

- You can also choose how long your conversation history should be stored. It ranges from forever to a few weeks to never.

- You can clear your current conversation history here as well.

- You can also choose if you want your Skype status shown on the web.

- You can also clear your Skype cookies here and return to the default settings if you decide you want to go back to basics.
