show notes
- With your Gmail account open, obtain the RSS feed URL by clicking on the orange icon in your browser's address bar.
- That URL should look like this: http://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom
- Copy that link and launch your RSS reader. We used FeedDemon as an example.
- Click on the Subscribe button. Note: in some RSS readers, it will say Add instead of Subscribe.
- Paste the copied link where it asks for the feed URL. Insert your username and password and advance through any additional steps if it prompts you.
- If your feed reader doesn't support regular authorization, you can add your Gmail username and password in the feed URL itself. Copy and paste this text:
https://USERNAME:PASSWORD@gmail.google.com/gmail/feed/atom
- Then replace with your own username and password before the @ symbol.
