Finding your way with Google Maps

Taking it to the streets without asking you to take it to the streets, Google has an interesting feature called Street View. This view mode gets up close and personal with the street, affording a view you couldn't get otherwise without actually going there.

Show Notes

- If Street View is available in your location, click on the Street View icon. Cataloged streets will be outlined in blue.

- To view a Street View location, drag the little man icon to the location you wish to view.

- You can pan and zoom around to get a 360 view in the resulting pop-up window.

- Clicking on arrows allows you to more along the Street View street.

- Double-clicking on a spot in Street View zooms in.

Or

- In the map With Street View turned on, double-click on a Street View ready street to zoom in.

- Clicking on the camera icons in your directions gives a Street View of map points, where available.

- Street View is especially handy if you're traveling to an unfamiliar city and want some visual driving cues along with your directions.
