If you're an iPad owner, then you might have wondered if there is a way to use your iPad as your main computer. With the more powerful hardware of the new iPad 2, it is possible, though you'll have to make a couple of concessions. We'll go over the pros and cons of switching to using an iPad as your main machine in this episode.

With more users wanting to have computers that are truly portable, and with tablets becoming increasingly more powerful, using an iPad as your main machine is now a practical option. The product is small and versatile and there are a number of apps out there to suit your needs. Whether you're into being as productive as possible or just want to have fun, the iPad can cater to your needs.

There are a number of people out there who have adopted the iPad and have been lugging not only an iPad but also a laptop with them wherever they go. Now it can be practical to leave the laptop behind and simply use the tablet thanks to the improved hardware and wide range of apps.

Of course, there are a few drawbacks. First, the iPad does not support Flash, meaning some web elements will be unavailable. It's also not powerful enough to serve as a complete photo or video editing set up. Also, there is no hardware keyboard which may make typing uncomfortable for some. We'll talk about keyboard options and other accessories that can make your mobile life easier in the later parts in this series.
