- After running your first scan you will want to remove the malware that you have detected through your scan. However, this isn't as easy as it sounds.

- It's important to ensure that any files removed aren't necessary to your computer. There are several ways to check that a file is actually a threat or isn't required by one of your applications.

- Clicking on the threat level pane will give you a description of what each threat level means, ranging from Suspicious to High.

- If you click the + icon next to the left of the threat description you will see a list of the infections that fall under that threat.

- If you see the name of a program you regularly use in the list and want to know more, you can copy the information and run a browser search on it using Google, Bing or Yahoo to find more information.

- Before you try to remove the potential threats you can click a checkbox beside any file on the list so that it will not be deleted.

- Once you are confident that the selected items need removal click Fix Checked. On the first instance, the program will warn you to double check the files to be removed. Do so and continue.

- Once you click Fix Checked the process will continue and the selected files will be safely removed.

- Once finished, Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus will give you a summary of the scan including threats found, threats removed and a number indicating any threats that weren't removed safely.

- If you'd like to talk to PC Tools customer support about threats to your computer, you may do so at the PC Tools website.
