Rather than make you go through the trouble of renaming a hundred files one at a time, Windows allows for batch renaming of a group of selected files. These could be image files, documents or any other file type.

First, select all the files you wish to rename.
- Hold the Ctrl key to select files individually.
Or
- Click the first entry in the list, hold the Shift key and then click on the last entry in the list to select all items.
- Select Rename under the File menu.
- Enter the new name for your files, making sure to keep the file extension intact.
- Press Enter and the files will be renamed in sequence. Ctrl+Z undoes the changes if needed.
