If you want to

rent movies or TV

shows

using your AppleTV

, then you'll need to

set up your Apple ID

. This is the same as your

iTunes email address

, so if you use iTunes, then you can use your email address for your Apple ID. We'll show you how to set it up in this episode.

Show Notes

- To set up your Apple ID, go to Settings from the main screen and select General. Scroll down to iTunes Store.

- Make sure the location is correct and go down to Sign In. It will ask for your Apple ID, which is the email address that you use to sign into iTunes.

- Enter your email address and password and click Done. You will be asked if you want your AppleTV to remember your password for rentals.

- Now you can rent movies or TV shows on your AppleTV. You'll get a preview of any item that you select with more information about that title.

- From the information page, you can get a preview of the movie, add it to your Wish List or click More to get more information like reviews and opinions from Rotten Tomatoes.

- Once you rent a title, you'll have 30 days to start watching a video and 24 hours from the start of playing to finish watching it.

- Both TV shows and Movies can be sorted in a number of different ways. You can also do a search for a particular title.

- Television shows can be rented by episode and can be sorted by the network that they are featured on.

- During video playback, you can use the remote to play or pause, and use the left and right keys to fast-forward or rewind.
