- You can search for basic things like a name in Gmail, but you can also search for much more.

- There are search operators you can use to really refine a search.

- Advanced Gmail Search Operators

- You can search on things like "from:greg" or "to:greg".

- Search for things like "subject:test".

- Keep in mind not to put a space after the colon.

- For example, "subject: test" would be incorrect and "subject:test" would be correct.

- You can search using OR like "from:bill OR lucas".

- You can also search labels.

- If you want, you can search for one item while excluding another by using a hyphen - .

- For example "hamburger - fries" would find messages that contained "hamburger" but that did not contain fries.

- Look for emails with attachments by using something like "from:lucas has:attachment".

- The search operators make Gmail extremely powerful for finding what you need in your email.
