Friday December 11, 2009
You've got your domain. You've got your host. You've also spent time creating your site. Now your site is online so you'll want to give it a final check to make sure everything looks good. - Once your site is "live" go take a look at it.
- Check to see if text is how you want it. Make notes of anything you want to change.
- Make a note of any images you used.
- Are they too large? Too small?
- Do they need to be aligned on the page differently?
- Do you have images missing from your site?
- If so make sure they were uploaded.
- Another thing to check is the case. Websites are case-sensitive.
- That means that babies.GIF is not the same as babies.gif.
- If you find this either change the HTML code to match the file name or vice versa.
- If you wrote your own HTML code and you see problems in the site you can check your code.
Here are a few programs you can use to check or "validate" your HTML coding.
- CSE HTML Validator
- HTML-Optimizer Pro
- Make changes, fix errors, and reupload your site files.
- That's all there is to it!
