Facebook's privacy settings allows you to set up privacy on many aspects of your profile. We'll show you how to set these privacy settings to block people from viewing your profile, as well as show you how you can play with the settings to be as visible or invisible as you would like to be. - You can set privacy settings for specific portions of your Facebook profile.
- You can change profile privacy by going to settings at the top right of the window and then clicking on profile.
- You can decide who gets to see many aspects of your Facebook life, like your profile, basic info, photos people tag of you, and much more.
- To change any of these settings click on the drop down menu to the right of the information and select the privacy setting.
- There are 3 basic privacy settings:
- You can also customize the settings to name specific people you do not want to certain aspects of information.
- The same thing can be done for all the contact information you have put online.
- You can set your search visibility. This can make it easier or harder for people to find you.
- Click on Settings, then search.
- The drop down menu next to Search visibility has a variety of settings:
- You can also customize these settings.
- You can remove yourself from the search engine indexing by clicking the box under public search listing.
- You can also limit what people searching for you can see.
- You can also set the privacy settings for what appears in your news feed.
- Click the settings, then privacy settings, and then News Feed and Wall.
- To remove how information is updated from your mini feed uncheck the box associated with the information you don't want people to see.
- You can also change the settings for specific applications by clicking Settings, then privacy settings, then applications.
- You can block a specific person from ever seeing you.
- Click on settings, then privacy settings. At the bottom of the screen type the person's name and the click block.
