Setting up an alternate email account

When you performed the

initial setup on your HTC HD7

, you were asked to enter a Windows Live ID. If you did that, then your associated email accounts should have been set up automatically. Of course, if you have another email address, then you can set those up as well.

First, go to

Settings, then to email & accounts

. Now select add an account. You'll see a list of potential services, but if you don't see your email provider listed, you can simply select other account. From the next page, enter your email address and password. If this doesn't work, you'll have the option of trying again, and if that doesn't work, you'll want to tap the advanced button.

, you can choose to either add an Internet email account or an exchange server. We'll be setting up an Internet email account. Now, ensure that the information on the next screen is correct. You may need to enter your entire email address as your user name. Confirm whether you're using a POP3 or IMAP4 account. There are also options for SSL encryption under the advanced section as well as options for setting how often the email gets checked.

Once your email account has been properly configured, you should see the new account pop up as a tile on the Windows start screen.
