Before we can

attach a second monitor

to our MacBook or MacBook Pro, we'll need to figure out what, if any, display adapters we'll need. Different generations of MacBook and MacBook Pro use different connections; DVI, MiniDVI and if we cast our memory back, VGA too. - Different generations of Apple laptops use different video connection ports.

- The MacBook Pro used in this tutorial has a DVI (Digital Video Interface) adapter.

- This port will also accept a VGA (Video Graphics Array) connection with an adapter.

- In order to do this you'll have to have a VGA to DVI adapter available at Apple stores.

- Just connect the cable from the monitor to the port on your MacBook or MacBook Pro.

- Once connected the rest is primarily adjusting your settings and getting used to using two monitors.

Cool series Just one comment. The unibody Macbook pro actually uses a Mini Display port instead of the mini dvi port as referenced in this tutorial.
