Show Notes

First, you'll have to press the power button to start up your HP TouchPad for the first time. You'll see the HP logo while your device boots up and then you'll be asked what language you'd like to use.

Select your language and region

, then confirm your choices.

Next, you'll be asked to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Your HP TouchPad will automatically scan the area for Wi-Fi networks. Pick the one you want to connect to and enter a password if necessary. On the following screen, you'll need to accept the terms and conditions of use.

The next step is to create a webOS account. If you already have one of these (if you own a Pre, for example), then you can enter your information and log in. Otherwise, you'll need to create an account from scratch. You'll find a confirmation email sent to your inbox shortly afterwards.

Lastly, you'll also be asked to accept the terms and conditions in order to use Google services. The device will then reboot, after which point, it will be ready for use.
