Show Notes

- The

Kinect package

comes with the

Kinect Sensor device

, a power adapter for older Xbox 360 models, a wireless network adapter, assorted manuals and print-outs and a copy of Kinect Adventures.

- If you have one of the newer

Xbox 360 slim

models, then you'll find a Kinect port on the back of your Xbox. This is used both to power the Kinect and to connect the Kinect to your Xbox 360.

- Owners of older Xbox 360 models will need to use the specialized power adapter in order to connect the Kinect device. You can do so by connecting the Kinect to the port located in the middle of the power cord, connecting the USB end to the Xbox and then plugging the power supply into the outlet.

- Clearing a good deal of space away from the front of your Kinect device is necessary to play Kinect games safely and effectively. Microsoft recommends at least six feet of room for single player play or eight feet for two player gaming.

- Microsoft also recommends that the device be placed two to six feet above the floor. It should be placed on a stable surface like a shelf or a mounting bracket.

- Do not try and MacGyver a Kinect stand out of string and/or duct tape. The Kinect is a sensitive device that gets upset if it is mistreated.
