When working with any program you want to be sure to check the
Preferences
to see what options are available. This is true withTextExpander
as well. Go in and poke around and see if there are options you want to change.Download this episode now

- Open the System Preferences pane either by clicking on the icon in the Dock or by clicking on the Apple menu and selecting System Preferences.
- In System Preferences click on the
- Click on the Preferences tab and make sure TextExpander is enabled.
- You can
- Determine if you want to hear a sound and what that sound should be.
- Set the Default Snippet Format to Plain Text.
- To start out have the Default Abbreviation Mode set to Case Sensitive.
- Have the default be to expand snippet groups in all applications.
- You can toggle a TextExpander icon in the menu bar and set its width.
