- bit.ly is a service that helps you shorten long URLs into more easy to share URLs. You can sign up for an account or use it without one.
- When you want to share a link just go to bit.ly, type in your URL and click Shorten.
- You can then copy the new link to your clipboard and paste it wherever you want to share it. Click Customize to customize your link.
- Now that you've created a shortened URL, you can go to that link's info page to see how many clicks your link has received as well as the total number of clicks for that page.
- On the info page, you can also see conversations about the page, Twitter and Facebook info, and traffic statistics like the dates your link was clicked and where the traffic came from.
