Out of the gate, there aren't a lot of apps optimized to run on the Samsung Galaxy Tab's 7-inch screen. The bundled apps from Samsung itself are an exception. We take a look at the split-screen Mail, Notes, Calendar and other productivity apps, designed to give you a new view on the stuff you need to get done.

- Samsung has created several apps designed specifically for the Galaxy Tab's 7-inch screen.

- Keep an eye on the Samsung Apps market for more 7-inch optimized apps as they're released.

- Split-screen apps work like a normal mobile app in portrait mode.

- Unique to the Tab and some of the apps designed to run on it, turning the device into landscape mode will give a different configuration; Mail, for example, gives an independent scrollable list of your messages on the left and a message preview on the right.
