open up

Windows Media Player

- In

Windows Media Player

click on the Stream option and select Turn on media streaming...

- The next dialog tells you that media sharing is not turned on and gives you some information.

- Make sure your home network is secure because media streaming will make some changes to your network and firewall settings.

- Keep in mind that while you can stream your media to all other devices on your network you'll also be able to receive media from those devices in

Windows 7

.

- Click on Turn on media streaming.

- Windows 7 makes the necessary changes.

- You can have it show devices on your local network.
