Show Notes

- In this episode, we're looking at swapping the hard drive out on a Windows system.

- The first step is to find where the hard drive is located.

- On Windows-based notebooks, they are usually accessible by either a bay on the side or a door on the underside of the computer.

- There should be a symbol identifying where to find the hard drive.

- As always, you should remove the battery before swapping out any parts on your notebook.

- If there are any screws keeping the hard drive door or drive bay in place, you'll want to remove those.

- Now remove the drive. If it is in a sled, remove the screws that hold the mounting system in place and gently remove the drive.

- Now follow those steps in the reverse order, replacing your old drive with the new one.

- Ensure that the drive bay door is secure and you should be ready to start up your notebook.
