There's no doubt that the BlackBerry is a handy device for managing contacts, calendars and emails on the go. However, when you're at your desk, the computer is king. We'll discuss charging your BlackBerry so it never runs out of juice while you're out as well as syncing your BlackBerry with your PC or Mac to ensure you have the most up-to-date info whether at your desk or on the go.

- The USB port is used for both syncing and charging.

- You can charge your BlackBerry using a powered USB port on your computer.

- The USB port on a BlackBerry is generally located on the left-hand side, near the top of the device.

- When you plug your BlackBerry into a powered USB cable, the screen will display a power icon to indicate that it's charging.

- When plugging your BlackBerry into a low-power USB connection, like you might find on a keyboard or non-powered USB hub, your BlackBerry can sync but won't charge.

- Syncing software called BlackBerry Desktop should be included in the box your BlackBerry came in. If you lose the disc, you can download BlackBerry Desktop syncing software here.

- PocketMac is the best free option for syncing the BlackBerry with a Mac.

- Missing Sync is a better option but has a cost associated with it.
