- Tagging is a great way to delineate your email into groups with meaning to you.

- In Thunderbird click on the Tag icon in the toolbar.

- There are some default tags like Important, Work, Personal, To Do and so on.

- Click New Tag to enter a new tag.

- Give the tag a name, like Shopping.

- Select a unique color to set your tag apart from others.

- You can highlight an email, right-click and move down to Tag, then select the tag you want.

- When you first Tag an email the entire message bar will be the color of the tag, like purple.

- When you move away from the email the text remains that tag color.

- There are a number of Thunderbird add-ons that enhance tagging.
