In this episode, we'll take a close look at sending email in Gmail and offer some tips and tricks for personalizing your emails with fonts, text styles, bullets and links.
The Gmail email service offers many of the same text editing options as a stand alone client like Outlook Express or Thunderbird but has the benefit of being accessible anywhere there's an internet connection.

To compose and send email
- Click on Compose Mail
- Type an address in the To: bar. If the person you're emailing is already in your contacts, you can just type in a few letters of their first or last name or email address and Gmail will populate the information.
- Enter the subject and message as you normally would.
- Use the rich text editor bar to stylize your text. But remember, less is more!
To create a custom signature
- Select Settings at the top left of your inbox window.
- Under the General tab of the Settings page, type in your signature in the appropriate text box. This signature text will appear when you compose an email.
- In the same window, you can create a Vacation responder that will be automatically sent to anyone that emails. You can also choose to have your vacation responder only send to people in your contact list.
