- Start with your Android phone unplugged, then insert the USB cable that came with our phone and connect the other end to a USB port on our computer.

- On the phone screen, the USB Mass Storage screen pops up. Tap the button to Turn on USB storage. You'll see a warning stating that by turning on USB storage some applications will stop. Tap OK.

- The Android USB storage character turns orange to indicate that we're connected to the computer.

- Over on the computer side, we'll see our phone's storage appear as a standard removable drive. Click to enter.

- You'll now see everything that's currently stored on our USB or microSD card storage. This includes any apps that we've moved to SD card storage along with a DCIM folder where you'll find images and videos shot on the phone.

- To transfer a file from the phone to the computer, simply select the files or folders you want to copy and drag them to a folder on your computer to copy.

- To transfer music to the phone, go back to the root directory for the USB storage. If you don't already have a Music folder, create one. Dropping your audio files here will help to keep everything organized and you can also create sub-folders for artists or albums.

- Once you're finished transferring files and folders, eject the USB storage drive from your computer. In Windows, use the Safe Eject option. On a Mac, simple click the Eject button.

- With the drive unmounted from the computer, it's now safe to turn off USB storage on your phone. Tap the appropriate button and you can then unplug the USB cable.
