, you want to be able to transfer files quickly. You also want to make sure that the files you're transferring are indeed the correct files. FileZilla makes

managing file transfers

easy by giving you the ability to compare files in multiple directories to look for changes.

- Once connected to your Web server you can begin file transfers.

- To transfer, just highlight a file or files, left-click with the mouse button and hold it down, drag the file to the other side, and then drop it.

- The

file transfer

will begin immediately and you'll see the transfer progress down below.

- FileZilla has an excellent feature for updating Web sites because it lets you compare two folders.

- Click on the icon in the Toolbar that consists of two columns of black bars with a red bar on the left and a green one on the right.

- You can also toggle Directory Comparison by clicking on View and then on Directory Comparison.

- The Directory Comparison shows you which files are the same on both sides as well as which files are missing from each side.

- You can use this feature to double-check yourself when uploading lots of files.

- Directory Comparison makes it easy to see which files still need to be transferred.
