Some "smartphones" come with navigation built right in. On the iPhone, however, you have to find a application to give you that functionality. One that caught our attention is CoPilot. We'll preview it for you here.

- Get CoPilot Live North America from the App Store for $34.99.
- There's also another product called CoPilot Live Directions which is free.
- When you first install CoPilot Live North America, you need to create an online account.
- You also have to go through some setup options, like picking the voice used for navigation, the language and so on.
- You also have to accept that fiddling with a gadget while driving isn't safe.
- On the main screen, you can pick Destination. This leads to more options.
- Enter an address, intersection, coordinates, contact info and the like.
- You can tap My Places where you can keep directions for places you want to refer to quickly.
- Press the down arrow to go back.
- Tap Quick Stop and you can find local gas stations, restaurants, hotels, and more.
- Tap Live Services and you can get local weather.
- You can also tap and type in the name of another city to get the weather there.
- Tap Detour to get alternate routes, and so on.
