Show Notes

- To start, go to your System Preferences on your Mac.

- Now, go to Sharing under

Internet & Wireless

.

- In the list that appears to the left, you'll want to click on Internet Sharing but don't click the checkbox just yet.

- Make sure that Ethernet is selected under the tab that says Share your connection from.

- With AirPort selected in the box below, click on

AirPort options

.

- In the options menu, you can change the Network Name to change what the network will be displayed as, while under Password you can change the WEP password to whatever you want. Click OK when you're done.

- Now that you're back at the previous screen, click on the checkbox next to Internet Sharing. Your Mac should now be functioning as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

- To make sure that you're broadcasting, check the upper-right next to your volume icon for a Wi-Fi icon with an upward facing arrow.
