Your mouse has certain default values, but that doesn't mean you have to stick with the defaults. It is possible to go in and change things to your personal preference. Change the look of your cursors, alter the speed of double-clicking, turn on ClickLock and more.

- Click on Start, then on Control Panel.
- In Control Panel click on Mouse.
- On the Buttons tab you can reverse the primary and secondary buttons.
- You can also change the double-click speed or turn on ClickLock.
- Under the Pointers tab you can pick from a good number of mouse pointers and cursors using the drop down menu.
- On the Pointer Options tab you can change the pointer speed.
- You can also turn on Snap To which makes the mouse cursor go to a default button in a dialog box.
- You can display pointer trails, hide the pointer while typing, and show the position of the pointer when you press the CTRL key.
- On the Wheel tab you can make adjustments to your mouse wheel and determine how many lines it scrolls with one click.
- The Hardware tab gives information about your mouse.
