The Windows "tray" is an often-misunderstood area of your desktop, but it's really a very useful feature of Windows.

- The Windows tray is part of the Taskbar.

- It's located on the bottom right-hand side of your screen.

- It holds icons for programs that are running.

- You can customize how tray applications notify and whether or not they're displayed in the tray.
