- Before you start you're going to want to check some things.
- You'll want to download Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to make certain your PC can run Windows 7.
- If you're already running a pre-release version of Windows 7 your PC should be fine for running the release version.
- To check the state of your processor download SecurAble
- This will tell you whether you can run a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or not.
- If you want to transfer settings you'll want to download Windows Easy Transfer for Windows XP
- You'll also want to backup programs and data because these will not be migrated.
- We'll look at backup in the next segment.
