Show Notes

- If you got your iPad a while back, then it should have a variant of iOS 3 on it. This is what your iPad was shipped out with and we'll be upgrading it to 4.2.

- iOS 4.2 allows you to multitask, use AirPlay and more.

- First, open iTunes on your computer and then connect your iPad to your computer. You may be asked if you want to upgrade, but say no for now.

- On the left, find your iPad under Devices. Right-click it and select Transfer Purchases. That will transfer anything that you've bought on your iPad to your iTunes library.

- Now, choose Update. You may be asked if you want to back up your settings, which we recommend.

- Once the update is downloaded, the install process will start automatically.

- The iPad will restart once the installation is complete and will begin the process of moving your backed up settings back to your iPad.
