If you want to make quick work of uploading files to your FTP site you'll want to check out WS_FTP Home. It's fast, intuitive, and really easy-to-use. You'll need to have the details for an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) site to connect to. In our example, we're using a web server. FTP is a quick and easy way to get files and pages from your home computer to your home page.

Show Notes

- Get and install WS_FTP Home.

- In the Connection Wizard enter a name for the site, like Bob's FTP Site or whatever you like and click Next.

- Select the type of connection and click Next.

- Type in the server address either as an IP address like 192.168.3.141 or as a domain like www.mydomain.com. This information will be provided to you by your Internet service provider (ISP) or web host. click Next.

- Type in your username and your password and click Next.

- Look at the summary. You can check the box to automatically connect to the new site and there are also advanced options you can pick from.

- Click Finish and because the box was checked we automatically connect to the site.

- A sound lets us know we're connected and the program clearly shows that the computes files are on the left and the Web sites files are on the right,

- To transfer a file simply highlight it and click the arrow that's pointing in the direction you want the file to go.

- You can also right-click a file and select Upload.
