- You can also use your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch as a remote for your AppleTV unit.
- First, go to Settings and then Remotes. Now go to Remote App.
- You'll need to have the free Remote application installed on the device that you are going to use as your AppleTV remote.
- Turn on Home Sharing in the Remote app.
- You'll be asked for your Apple ID and password. Make sure that you use the same information that you used for your AppleTV.
- Once you start using the Remote app for the first time, you will be given a tutorial on how to use it.
- One of the most handy parts about using the Remote app is that you can use your on-screen keyboard to type email addresses, passwords and more.
