Monday October 26, 2009
Windows 7 has many improvements over previous versions of Windows. Among these improvements is a more refined

User Account Control or UAC.

Users can now choose from one of four default settings from off to always notify. The default level of UAC will be much less annoying than UAC in Windows Vista but will still notify you of important system changes.

-

UAC, or User Account Control,

was a touchy subject in Windows Vista.

- In Windows 7 the UAC has been totally revised.

- Click on Start and then on Control Panel.

- In Control Panel click on System and Security and then on Action Center.

- On the left-hand side in Action Center you'll see Change User Account Control settings. Click on that.

- Note the slider bar that lets you determine the level of UAC.

- Move it to the bottom to totally disable UAC. This is not recommended.

- Next notch up removes the screen darkening of UAC, but gives you protection.

- The top position gives you maximum protection.

- You can set UAC to a level you're comfortable with.

- Later you can always change it.
