- Craigslist is a good place to start when looking for an apartment. It has listings in most American cities and many others around the world.

- Select your location and click on apts/housing.

- This is where you'll find rental listings.

- If you're looking for a vacation rental or shared accommodations, you can select that from the drop-down menu next to the Search button.

- In larger cities, you may be able to browse certain sections of the city. You can even sort by neighborhood.

- You can enter in keywords that describe what you're looking for, add a desired price range, select the number of bedrooms you want and more.

- Click on a listing for more details, but remember to beware of deals that look too good.

- You can also share the listing with others by clicking email this posting to a friend.
