Setting up email on your Nexus One

- We suggest the Gmail app over the Email app and will focus on that.

- When first loading the Gmail app, you may be asked for your Google Account details.

- Tap the Menu softkey to open up options like Settings, Accounts and others.

- You can do all the standard Gmail stuff: archive, delete, label, reply, forward, star, etc.

- Tap an email to open and view it.

- Tap the Menu softkey to open up some message-specific options.

- Tap the Back softkey to return to the inbox view.

- Tap Settings to choose options like the notification behaviour, how often to check for new mail, to add a signature and so on.

- Tap the Phone icon to launch the dialer.

- You can view the Call log, Contacts and Favorites across the top.

Advanced dialling tip

- You can add access to things like a phone card for long distance calls or to access remote voicemail by hitting the menu key and adding pauses, etc.
