. This app can also be installed on your iPad to help you

find your lost iPad

and send it a message or make it ring out. You can also use this application to

remotely lock your iPad

or even to

clear all data remotely

in case your device was stolen.

- Find My iPhone is an app for the iPhone and iPad that allows you to find one device using the other, or even by using a computer.

- Formerly only available to MobileMe subscribers, Find My iPhone is now available to anyone with an iTunes account who has a device running iOS 4.2.

- Click on the Find My iPhone app from the menu and enter your Apple ID and password. If you have trouble just click on Setup Instructions.

- Once you log in you'll be brought to a screen that locates all of your iOS 4.2 devices, including the one that you're currently using.

- Click on the device you want to find it on a map. From here you can either send a message to the device or make the device ring out with a chime.

- You can also lock the device remotely or even wipe all of the data from it if you so choose.
