Using Google Alerts to shop online

Pt. 9 of 10 | 1:55 |

How to use Google for product search

Thursday August 12, 2010
You can set up a

Google Alert

with

Google Product Search

to inform you of

prices changes

for products that you want to purchase so that

shopping online

is even easier. This will send you an

automatic notification

once a price drops to your desired price so that you don't have to check on it every day.

- If you are waiting for a price drop on an item then you can use Google Alerts to set up an alert that will email you when the item is advertised at your desired price.

- This is a little trick, so the way you go about it is to go to the Google menu and choose even more>> under Services and then Alerts when you're logged into your Google account.

- You'll want to know the exact name of the product you're looking for because this is what Google will look for in order to send the correct alert.

- Enter that into the text box.

- Choose where you want Google to search, how often you'd like to receive alerts and the email address you want it sent to.

- Click on Create Alert and now, when this item is posted online for the price you entered, you should receive an alert telling you so in your inbox.
