- To

turn part of a song into a ringtone

, first find that song in iTunes.

- Right-click on your selected song and click on Get Info.

- Under Options, you'll see Start Time and Stop Time. You'll want to change these values to reflect the part of the song you want turned into a ringtone.

- Now, right-click the song again and select Create AAC Version.

- You'll see the new file created with the same name but a different length. Right-click this and click on Show in Finder.

- Back in iTunes, choose to remove the song from your iTunes library but keep the file in your computer.

- Now, in Finder, you'll want to change the song's format to .m4r. Once you double-click the song, you should find it in your ringtones on iTunes.

- Just connect your phone to have the ringtone transferred over.
