Like most smartphones currently available, the HTC HD7 has a GPS unit built right in. This helps in a number of ways, allowing you to locate where you are at any time, geotag images, share your location and more. Tap the Windows button to get to the start screen then swipe over to your applications list. From here, tap the Maps application and you'll be asked if you want to allow the app to

access your location

. Tap allow and you'll be brought to a map of your location.

If for some reason your Maps application isn't zooming to your location, you can tap the targeting sight icon to center on your location. Because the HD7 has a touchscreen you can pinch to zoom in and out, or swipe in any direction to move the map. Tapping the search icon allows you to key in an address to search for. While typing you'll usually see suggestions for words and names pop up, which you can click on if you want to quickly key in that word.

The arrow icon will allow you to search for directions from one location to another. Once you finish a search, you'll get turn by turn directions as well as a map showing the recommended route. Tapping the ... icon will allow you to change the settings of Maps or to see other views including aerial and a live traffic view. You can also see your recent searches or clear your search history.
