The settings menu is where you can customize many aspects of your Boxee box setup. To get to the settings menu, hit the menu button and select the cog wheel icon next to the power button.

The first option you'll see is General. The first tab you'll see is Location, which is where you set your default location and how you want the time and weather displayed. The next option is Display where you can change your resolution and some other options. Below that are Menu where you can change the default view for your various menus and Screensaver where you can change your

Boxee screen saver settings

. The last three options are Language, where you can change the layout of your keyboards, Sounds where you can turn off sound effects, and Advanced where you can choose whether to view hidden files and directories.

The next main option is Social. Here, you can choose whether you want to see things that have been favorited by friends on Facebook, Twitter or Google Buzz. After Social, you'll find Media, which is where you can change various options for photos, videos, audio content and how you want subtitles to be displayed. After Media you'll see System. System lets you see your device's system information, see your audio output, update your Boxee or see your services.

Next you'll see Network. Here, you can go through the

network configuration

that you saw when you first set up your Boxee and make any changes you feel are necessary. The next option, File Sources, allows you to define specific directories for external hard drives, etc. Adult is where you can choose to hide adult content or protect it with a password so that others won't be able to view adult content on your Boxee. Also, near the bottom is a Credits button where you can see who has worked on the Boxee box.
