Using Yahoo chat
Yahoo Messenger is a powerful chat tool that will allow you to chat with friends and family around the world. It's fun, free and with these tips, it's easy too. Whether you're on a computer with Yahoo Messenger installed or not, you can still access your instant messaging friends through a browser window. We'll show you how.download this episode now

- On the main page click on the Messenger tab located beside the Mail tab.
- If you want to download the messenger application click Download Now.
- You can also use the Yahoo Yahoo online messenger instead.
- You can choose to sign in as invisible to hide your presence online so that none of your contacts will be able to see you are online.
- Once you've signed in you can add contacts by typing in their Yahoo username into the text field above the word Friends.
- To talk with contacts who are online (denoted by the colorful smiley face) clicking on the person's name.
- Type your message in the text field at the bottom of the chat window and click Send or press enter to send your message.
- You can change the font style, size and color using the drop down menus that are above the text field.
- You can also select from a variety of smiley faces (also known as emoticons).
- You can select your online Status by using the drop-down menu under your name.
- To create a group, hover your cursor over the user name until you see a downward arrow appear to the right of the name.
- Click on the arrow and select Move to Group.
- If you want to start a new group click New Group or you can select a group that you already have.
- Once you've selected New Group a new subheading will appear. Double click so that you can change the name of the group.
- You can have multiple chats going on that the same time. To switch between chats click the appropriate tag at the top of the screen.
