Facebook is going to begin allowing users to have personalized URL's beginning June 12 and 13 (depending on your timezone). Names will be available on strictly a first-come-first-served basis. This will make it easier for people to connect on Facebook.

- Visit www.facebook.com/username to view the countdown.

- Once the countdown timer ends, the page will change to allow you to sign up for your own custom username URL.

- Names will be available June 12 or 13, depending on your timezone.

- The username in the URL will replace the account number, making it easier to share with friends.

- Once set, custom usernames can not be changed or transferred.

- Custom user names should be longer than five alphanumeric characters (A to Z and numbers).

- Custom user names will make it easier to turn up in search engines.
