- It became a big deal if your computer had two serial or two parallel ports.

- Today you seldom see either parallel or serial ports.

- They have been replaced by USB or Universal Serial Bus ports.

- Just about everything can connect through these handy ports.

- It also means that you don't have to have a bunch of different connectors and adapters.
