Show Notes

- MAC stands for "Media Access Control".

- The MAC address is a unique identifier that's assigned to each network interface card (NIC).

- If you go into your router setup, you can find your MAC address, generally under Status.

- Because it's unique, the MAC address can be used for security.

- In your router, it's possible to turn on MAC address filtering.

- With this enabled, you could create a list of approved MAC addresses that could access your network.

- In this case, if a computers MAC address was not on the approved list it could not access the network.
