- Technically a passcode is made up only of numbers.
- At the same time a password doesn't have to be a word and it can contain numbers, letters and characters.
- Passcodes are very much like the PIN (Personal Identification Number) used with ATM cards.
- Most smartphones have a way to lock access to the phone.
- The passcode should be something you can remember but not something easily guessed, like your birthday.
- With a four-digit passcode, if zero is allowed in the first position, there are 10,000 possible combinations.
