- UPS units vary as to how long they'll keep your computer running.

- The idea behind a UPS is to stop your computer from crashing in the event of a power failure.

- If the power goes out and your computer is connected to a UPS, your computer stays on, giving you time to shut it down normally.

- When power goes out suddenly, it can sometimes damage your hard drive because the hard drive head suddenly stops moving and drops against the disk surface.

- UPS units vary widely in price.
