bandwidth

" in your travels around the Internet or when shopping for an Internet service provider (ISP). You know you want as much as you can get when it comes to bandwidth, but what the heck is bandwidth? Doc explains.

- Bandwidth is the amount of data that can flow through a connection in a set period of time.

- It compares well to water through a pipe.

- The larger the pipe the more water that can flow through.

- The greater the bandwidth, the more data that can flow through.

- Bandwidth is generally measured in Mbits/second, Kbits/second, and so on.
