Show Notes

-

Ethernet

is a term used to refer to a network.

- The first Ethernet, and hence the first network, was created between 1973 and 1975.

- The early computer guys called it Ethernet as a reference to the concept of "Aether" that was discussed by early philosophers.

- The aether was supposed to be a layer of very pure air. In any event, it made sense to the early computer guys.

- An

Ethernet network

utilizes ethernet cards and cables to create the connections.

- The term Ethernet is heard less today because of the prevalence of wireless networks.
